UPVC Replacement Door Handles
The handles on your doors get worn out over time and will need to be replaced. When replacing them, it is essential that the new handles are in line with the critical dimensions of the handle that was previously used.
The top screw position, the lever and the keyhole sizes are the three measurements you need to check. Refer to the size guide for assistance with this.
Inline Lever/Lever
A lever/lever door handle is a contemporary handle that can be installed on doors that are new or replacement. This kind door handle is available in a wide range of styles and finishes. This handle is offered by a number of manufacturers including Avocet ERA Fullex Hoppe Mila Millenco Yale.
Fab and Fix Windsor Inline Sprung Lever Door Handle
The door handles of uPVC/Composite are made of sturdy materials and are perfect for multi point lock doors that require a strong design. window handles are inline, and use the same spindle and screws to fix them. They are easily fitted on new or existing uPVC/Composite doors.
The sprung lever design allows the handle to be positioned and angled for comfortable operation and is suitable for all users. The handle has been tested to 200,000 cycles. This helps to ensure the quality of the finish and the performance of the handle over time. The sprung lever can be reduced to accommodate a wider range of locks. This is particularly beneficial in doors with smaller door frames where the cylinder is further back. A shorter lever can be used for doors with a latch that can be opened by the thumb on the inside.
Lever Pad
The lever pad upvc handle is distinct from the lever handles that are commonly found on doors. The handle can use a single spindle (inline) or independently from each side using two offset spindles or inline (pad). They are usually used on UPVC doors with double glazing. They are available in a variety of finishes & variations.
The handles have been tested to at least 200,000 cycles and are available in various finishes, including White, Silver, Chrome & Gold. The finish meets BS EN 1670:2007 Grade 5 and is also resistant to corrosion, thereby giving the handle a high level of durability and performance for the intended use.
All UPVC handle lever pads come with a spindle, screws, and can be fitted on the uPVC door. The backplate fixing centres of 211mm allow for a larger handle, which can be beneficial when replacing a faulty or worn multi-point door lock mechanism. The levers for these handles have springs, which can solve the problem of door handles that sag out of horizontal position when they are not being used.
It is essential to match up the dimensions of the PZ for both the multipoint lock as well as the uPVC doors when choosing the replacement UPVC spindle and handle. This measurement is also known as the handle centre or 'cylinder centres which is a crucial aspect to match the appropriate handles.
Once you have the proper PZ size you will then be required to make sure that the lever pads and push pads are a appropriate shape to accommodate the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) approved handles you require for your doors. These are usually square or round with an internal lever, and an external push pad.
The majority of UPVC Lever Pads that we offer are sprung. This means they can be reverted to a horizontal state when they are not in use instead of hanging and possibly being stuck in the frame. This stops draughts and cold air from getting into a house. Also, the majority of the UPVC handle lever pad style handles are hand-operated that allows you to put them on either side of the door.
Euro Cylinder
Cylinder locks are found on uPVC and other kinds of doors. They operate with a key to unlock a cylinder case that will reveal pins that can be aligned to those inside the lock body, allow them to rotate a revolving cam, thus opening the door. Euro cylinders are available with up to six pins. External and internal doors require different levels of security.

Choosing the right cylinder is essential; it depends on how your door and handle are utilized. For instance, exterior doors require a higher security cylinder, while internal doors can be secured with an ordinary cylinder. Additionally, certain cylinders come with additional features that can improve security further, such as anti-drill or anti-bump properties.
A euro cylinder needs to be measured correctly to ensure it is the correct size for your door. The cylinder should be measured from the hole for fixing screws in the middle to each end of the cylinder including the thumb turn if you have one. If you cannot measure using the lock in a fixed position, you can remove it. A cylinder that extends beyond the handle and escutcheon may be vulnerable to attacks, such as lock snapping, so it is important that it's not too long.
The design of many modern cylinders comes with anti-drilling as well as bump resistance features. These features are designed to minimize the risk of attack by forcing the cylinder rotate in an opposite direction. This helps prevent attacks and ensure your doors are secure.
There are also cylinders constructed to resist snapping. This is an increasingly common method of attack on cylinders which is where the break line of the lock is targeted with a special tool to break the front of the cylinder to allow the door to open. This is a faster and easier way to gain access than a multipoint locking system. It also leaves less evidence of the break-in which could delay insurance claims.
Spring Cassette
The spring cassette is situated in the base plate of the door handle. It is a spring-loaded solution to return the multipoint lock handles to their resting position after usage. These handles used to have no spring and would drop when the locking mechanism was disconnected. This simple part is the most effective way to address this issue. It also prevents your door from becoming stuck in either the open or closed position, as they are difficult to close manually.
These spring cassettes are specially designed to be used with multipoint locks sprung They will not work with multipoint handles that are not sprung and you will need to have a bespoke hole cut into your backplate in order for them to fit (please check the image for a technical diagram). These cassettes can be used as a replacement for damaged or missing cassettes on the backplate of uPVC door handles. They feature an elongated square that accommodates an 8mm spindle and are sold as a set.
These spring cassettes are a fantastic cost-effective way to fix the problem of your door handles that are sagging. These spring cassettes are simple to install and can extend the life of your uPVC door.
